Just in time for the arrival of Diamond Princess<\/em>, a few local events will be held for cruise passengers looking to stretch their legs and explore the town. These events are special to Nov. 26th, so be sure to check them out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Kaigetsu Event Space (10:00\u201315:00)<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

After getting off the ship, head to Kaigetsu Inn<\/a>, just a short walk from the dock and right beside the downtown free shuttle bus stop. You can try on a traditional Japanese kimono and take some photos for free. The staff will help you wear the kimono properly, so don\u2019t worry\u2014this is sure to be a memorable souvenir of your visit to Japan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Also at Kaigetsu, local artist PrinkM (Miwa)<\/em> will be creating Japanese finger calligraphy on-site. She can even take requests if you have a name or meaningful word you\u2019d like written. Finger-lettering art postcards (using Ise washi paper) and finger-lettering art magnets will be on sale. Be sure to stop by and say hello!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Handmade small items and traditional Japanese accessories will also be available for purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Traditional Noh Theater Masks on Display at Kata Shrine<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Just up the street from Kaigetsu is Kata Shrine<\/a>, where there will be a rare opportunity to see traditional wooden Noh theater masks. These masks, used by local performers for generations, are not typically displayed\u2014so don\u2019t miss this chance to get up close with these skillfully crafted pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Event information will be available at Toba\u2019s Marine Terminal and the information booth at Marine Park (the second shuttle bus stop). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
